Functional Behavior Assessment & Positive Behavior Support Plan
Table of Contents
Functional behavioral assessment (FBA) is a process that aims to understand the reasons behind a student’s challenging behavior and provide a plan to alleviate the problem that is typically applied to children with disabilities who receive special education.
The goal of a positive behavior support plan (PBS) is to improve the quality of a person’s life and that of the people around them. Positive behavior strategies are evidence-based, proactive approaches to changing challenging student behavior.
