Disability Rights advocates gathers at State Capitol
This KQ2 St. Joseph article reports that disability rights advocates and self-advocates gathered at the Missouri State Capitol for the 25th annual Disability Rights Legislative Day to educate legislators and push back against proposed budget cuts to disability services, including large reductions to in-home care funding. Speakers at the rally emphasized the importance of these programs and some lawmakers, like Sen. Rusty Black, expressed intentions to work toward restoring the cuts as the budget is developed.
